Since 1980, the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach has been advocating, educating, and investing in the community to protect the architectural, botanical, and cultural heritage of Palm Beach.
Committed to town-serving projects, in 1994 the Foundation purchased a half-acre plot one block north of Worth Avenue and created Pan’s Garden, Florida’s first all-native botanical garden.
In 2020 the Foundation began fundraising $30M and entered into an agreement with the Town of Palm Beach to renovate, restore and maintain the town’s 20-acre ocean to intracoastal Phipps Ocean Park.
Both locations feature 100% Florida native plant species. At Pan’s one can find plants native from Key West to central Florida, although more than half are native to the barrier island. At Phipps Ocean Park, all horticultural areas and restored ecosystems use only species native to the barrier island.
